About our Society

A very brief History

The Society was formed in 1982 by Jim Thompson who is still an Honourary President of the Society. The meetings were then held in the Whiteinch Neighbourhood Centre in Whiteinch and the first Annual Show was staged there in 1984.

Over the years the membership has waxed and waned and we're always looking for new members to join in on our thriving interest in Fuchsias. Glasgow & District covers a large area and Glasgow is by population the third largest city in the U.K. Our meetings are now held in the Penilee Community Centre, near Hillington.
